Case studies investigate issues of community enablement, how stakeholders can collaborate in delivering improvements and resilience in a newly developed city district. How a strong ecological concept can be realized by consequently sticking to it and engaging the community to support it. Methodology includes analysis overview of neighbourhood, time line, images and maps, two key interventions. The project is ecologically orientated.
The city of Ostfildern is located in the Stuttgart Region near the city of Stuttgart (Baden Württemberg, Germany) on the so- called “Fildern”. This is a rich farming ground (Filder=fields) in the south-east of the region. During a local government reform the city of Ostfildern was newly formed in 1975. It encloses the four formerly sovereign villages Kemnat, Nellingen, Ruit and Scharnhausen and was completed by the new part of the city “Scharnhauser Park “.
